Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the Selectamatic range.
It was good to meet up with many customers at Meltham and other venues where this
anniversary was celebrated.
Looking forward to this year there is no particular focus. However, we are expecting
several Aircraft Tugs at Tractor World in Malvern this spring. I am aiming to be
there with my DB based Douglas Taskmaster, which was built near here, in Cheltenham,
and spent its working life at the British Aerospace factory in Wharton, Lancashire.
Hopefully, we can muster some David Browns for the new Tractor World autumn event
in Newbury and the “Made in Yorkshire” theme at Newby Hall, near Ripon, in the summer.
Here at David Brown Parts the long awaited Cropmaster steering parts arrived and
many customers have been delighted to banish the slack in the steering that early
DBs are famous for.
I have recently tested a prototype new manifold on one of my Cropmasters, and subject
to a few minor modifications, these should be available in the coming year. Although
my test tractor had an original manifold in reasonable condition, the improved running
was quite noticeable, so one of these new manifolds may be worth fitting even if
your existing one is not burnt through.
Please keep watching the web site for news of this and other new parts on their
way in 2017.
